Electricity Systems Design Specialist
We are looking for a skilled Electricity Systems Design Specialist to join our team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have 7-12 years of experience in engineering consulting and a passion for delivering creative design solutions. This role involves working on various projects and collaborating with a diverse team of professionals.
Responsibilities
Create designs for electrical and lighting systems, develop construction documents, and write technical reports
Design electrical systems for different building types like industrial, educational, healthcare, and commercial facilities
Analyze electrical systems using industry-standard software
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines throughout the design process
Lead and assist in project activities, ensuring coordination among different disciplines
Attend site visits and provide support during construction activities as needed
Assist in business development and marketing initiatives when required
Contribute to mentoring and knowledge sharing within the firm
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required
Preferably hold a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering
Experience with local codes, standards, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction is preferred
Familiarity with local construction practices, contractors, and architects is a plus
Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building types
Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems preferred
Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling and analysis software
Professional experience in the power industry, specializing in industrial, educational, healthcare, and commercial projects
Working knowledge of electrical and energy codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, and related regulations
Experience in lighting design is a bonus
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design tools is preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate across multiple disciplines
Willingness to occasionally travel for site visits
Able to work in the office four (4) days per week
