Civil Construction Project Leader
The Lead Civil Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of large and intricate civil construction projects in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves managing contract administration, providing technical expertise, and ensuring operational excellence from start to finish.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct contract administration and offer technical guidance for complex construction projects.
Implement and promote project safety plan to establish a culture of safety and accountability.
Supervise all construction phases to ensure alignment with design, budget, quality standards, resource planning, and schedule.
Understand client goals and present value engineering solutions to enhance functionality, cost efficiency, and timelines.
Maintain oversight of project performance, regularly reviewing safety data, cost projections, and schedule updates.
Negotiate and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and progress payments while monitoring performance.
Interpret, communicate, and manage contract terms and documentation.
Coordinate project commissioning and closeout processes for seamless project completion.
Identify, assess, and address project risks and opportunities throughout construction.
Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, including direct and indirect reports.
Design Projects (if applicable)
Monitor design progress for compliance, quality, coordination, and adherence to timelines.
Create and maintain a design management and quality plan, conducting audits to ensure standards are met.
Communicate proactively with stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving challenges as needed.
Requirements
Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree or diploma.
Minimum 10 years of construction experience, with leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to promote a safety culture in compliance with regulations.
Extensive knowledge of construction practices, materials, codes, and quality systems.
Strong planning, organizational, and budget management skills.
Experience forecasting staffing and resource needs for projects.
Proven track record of identifying and managing project risks.
Successful in building relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
