Repair and Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
  • Technician specializing in repairs and upkeep needed for machinery, equipment, structures, and systems in business and industrial settings. This position requires on-call availability 24/7.
Duties:
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols in plant operations.
  • Collaborate on projects with various plant departments.
  • Complete assigned equipment and project tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, tools, and supplies.
  • Replace light bulbs as necessary.
  • Fix and maintain restrooms.
  • Keep parking areas and walkways free of debris.
  • Ensure all equipment is in optimal working order.
  • Order repair parts and monitor inventory levels.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including PM documents.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrate understanding of press operations.
  • Identify machine repairs, issue work orders, and provide follow-up.
  • Troubleshoot plastic injection molding machines and associated equipment.
  • Repair sensors and other secondary equipment to maintain daily production.
  • Disassemble, measure, and install injection unit components.
  • Prioritize daily tasks effectively.
  • Contribute to overall safety and efficiency of the plant and staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks.
  • Available for extended work hours or on-call basis as needed.
  • Address and correct any unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training.
  • Ensure safe operation of hi-lo drivers in the facility.
  • Supervisory duties to be assumed by Maintenance Manager when necessary.
  • Participate in environmental response team, fire brigade, and first responder activities as required. Provide training to staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safety practices, including PPE usage.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Competence in troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on-call 24/7.
  • Completion of lock out tag out training.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Training in electricity, controls, PLCs, and digital electronics.
  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and maintenance.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated language, mathematical, and computer skills required.
  • Strong reasoning ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess relevant certifications and licenses.
Physical Demands:
  • Physical capabilities including standing, walking, lifting, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Visual and auditory acuity required for job duties.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions including mechanical parts, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noise.
