Senior Audit Leader

Thriving accounting firm seeks an Audit Senior Leader and Audit Supervisor with experience in the Non-Profit sector. This role also involves working with various commercial audit clientele. The Audit Leader acts as the key link between the Partner, the client, and the professional team. Responsibilities include overseeing multiple audit and accounting projects simultaneously, as well as managing engagement workflow, staff assignments, and development. This role focuses on nurturing client relationships and fostering new business opportunities.

Duties

    • Manage all aspects of audit or review engagements for several clients simultaneously
    • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their businesses and control systems; develop and maintain strong client rapport
    • Keep the Partner informed on important client updates and recommend solutions for any emerging issues
    • Demonstrate strong technical skills, uphold work quality, and apply professional standards while offering client advice
    • Create and adhere to engagement schedules
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the firm's audit approach
    • Establish, track, and adhere to budgets for Assurance and Advisory projects; address budget overruns and identify change order opportunities
    • Foresee potential challenges and address arising questions
    • Review financial statements and other client deliverables
    • Supervise and review work performed by staff accountants and senior accountants
    • Play a crucial role in staff evaluations, reviews, and development
    • Contribute to the firm's Business Development efforts

Requirements

    • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
    • At least five years of public accounting experience, specifically auditing non-profit clients
    • Active CPA license
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively
    • Strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines efficiently
    • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the US
    • Responsive to training, supervision, and feedback
    • Experience in directing, reviewing, and training staff

Work Environment

    • Hybrid work setting (home, office, or client site)
    • Local travel for client meetings and seminars, as required
    • Occasional overnight travel for client visits or seminars
