Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Shepherdsville, KY
Shift Hours: First Shift | Full-Time
Role Overview
Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, enhance processes, and ensure efficient manufacturing of assemblies and end products. This position will be integral in fixture design, process optimization, ergonomics, and safety compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Main Responsibilities
- Offer engineering assistance for fixture, machine, and tool design and manufacturing
- Conduct time studies and assess equipment, tooling, and manufacturing procedures
- Enhance ergonomics, mistake-proofing, and ease of assembly
- Work alongside EHS to guarantee OSHA and safety standard compliance
- Support Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk reduction efforts
- Investigate incidents and aid in executing corrective measures
- Perform safety assessments at the plant and suggest process enhancements
- Evaluate new equipment and machines for safety adherence
- Monitor environmental factors (such as noise, dust, fumes) and ensure safe levels of exposure
- Back ISO 14001 and quality/environmental management systems
- Collaborate with Quality to ensure proper in-process inspection techniques
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Prior experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in automotive or assembly environments
- Knowledge of ergonomics, safety regulations, and OSHA standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard computer software (Excel, Word, databases)
- Experience with FMEA, process enhancement, and time studies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for working cross-functionally with production, quality, and safety teams
