Scientist, Protein Engineering + Platform Technologies

A company in Rockville, MD is currently looking to add a Scientist to their team who will work on creating a platform for protein engineering.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to product development and research objectives.
2. Establish computational methods for determining protein structure using AI technology such as Rosetta.
3. Develop workflows for studying protein interactions, including enzymes and DNA/RNA.
4. Provide recommendations to management and help implement new initiatives.
5. Communicate findings, challenges, and suggestions for project progress to internal teams.

Qualifications:

• PhD in structural biology, biochemistry, or computational biology with 0-4+ years of relevant experience.
• Track record of publications or patents related to protein prediction and enzyme engineering.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Leadership skills and understanding of management practices.

Experience:

• Experience in protein modeling and studying protein interactions.
• Knowledge of AI and machine-learning methods is a plus.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in protein engineering.
• Demonstrate creativity, collaboration, and proactivity.
• Excellent communication skills and previous supervisory experience.
