Automated Welding Specialist
Our customer wants to hire an individual with strong expertise in automated welding. Your focus could be on either programming or maintaining the welding robots. This position aids both production and engineering by merging hands-on technical problem-solving with advanced programming and process enhancement. The objective is to decrease rework, enhance cycle times, and sustain high quality standards throughout all automated welding operations. You will be supervised by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and refine robotic welding programs for new and existing parts, including the shift from manual to automated welding processes
- Perform initial tool and program tests, and cooperate with interdisciplinary teams to confirm and introduce parts into production
- Diagnose robotic welding systems, debug programs, and address production support needs and service requests
- Set up equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and provide ongoing assistance for robotic welding cells
- Monitor and boost welding cell efficiency, including calculating cycle times and tracking effectiveness
- Collaborate with Tooling Design and Manufacturing Engineering to create new fixtures and enhance existing ones
- Spot possibilities for automation and suggest parts or processes suitable for robotic welding
- Work with Quality Assurance to explore process failures, execute corrective measures, and push for continuous quality enhancement
- Recommend modifications in design and operations to enhance manufacturability, cost, and general performance
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED necessary and 3+ years of robotic welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferredOR associate’s degree or technical diploma in robotic programming, welding technology, manufacturing, or a related field preferred and some experience in robotic welding in a manufacturing setting
- Practical experience in robotic welding setup, programming, troubleshooting, and operation required
- Familiarity with robotic systems like Fanuc, CLOOS, IGM, UR, or ABB robots highly desirable
- Capability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and programming issues
- Experience in enhancing cycle times, reducing rework, and advancing quality
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
