JOB OVERVIEW:
A well-established organization dominating the market in their particular sector is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join their team at a site in the southwest region of Atlanta, GA. The company is heavily investing in new equipment, providing an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role involves designing and optimizing manufacturing processes in an industrial setting, ensuring efficiency and adherence to product specifications. The position offers competitive benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with matching benefits. Standard working hours are 8-5, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize 2D & 3D software, such as SolidWorks, to design production tooling.
- Implement enhancements to existing production lines to boost productivity.
- Analyze failures using statistical methods to recommend design, tolerance, or process changes.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Conduct FMEA’s on designs, materials, or processes to enhance product quality.
- Review product designs for manufacturability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to optimize productivity methods.
- Lead exercises in lean manufacturing, design of experiments, and other related areas.
- Coordinate design review meetings for both new and existing products.
- Create work instructions, spare parts inventories, and other relevant documentation.
- Implement automation technologies, such as robotics, vision systems, and controls integration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a reputable university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (specifically Solid Works) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in tooling, project management, and automation technologies.
- Prior experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Industry experience in zinc or aluminum die casting, stamping, or similar fields.
- Desired experience in foundry operations; authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship.
