CNC Service Technician
We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Service Technician with a reputable CNC Machine Tool Builder in Memphis, TN! Join our team as we are looking for skilled individuals to provide installation, repair, and maintenance support for CNC machine tools at various customer locations across the country. This role is crucial in ensuring top-notch machine performance and delivering exceptional customer service. If you have a strong background in electrical and mechanical expertise, advanced diagnostic skills, and a customer-centric approach, we want to hear from you. Reporting to the CNC Field Service Manager, this position is open to candidates located in the East of the Mississippi River region, with a preference for those near an airport in IL, TN, KY, AL, or OH.
Responsibilities
Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including all accessories
Conduct machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for optimal performance
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
Recommend repair or replacement solutions for identified root causes
Provide technical support via various communication channels
Assist customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance
Offer customer training and support project coordination as required
Attend trade shows and company events to provide service support
Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting
Travel extensively, including overnights and occasional weekend travel
- Undertake other necessary duties
Requirements
Hold a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field; or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance and service
At least 5 years of experience in remote technical support in the machine tool industry
Proven experience in installing and servicing machining centers, including geometric alignment
Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting
Knowledge of CNC control systems, particularly FANUC controls
Understanding of power circuits and industrial electrical systems
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service abilities
Capability to travel extensively during weekdays and work independently
