We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Service Technician with a CNC Machine Tool Builder in Birmingham, AL. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for CNC machine tools at customer locations across the country. This role plays a key part in ensuring machine performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, advanced diagnostic abilities, and a strong focus on customer service. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is open to candidates located East of the Mississippi, with preference for those near an airport in IL, TN, KY, AL, or OH.

Duties

• Install new CNC machine tools and accessories at customer sites

• Conduct geometry checks and adjustments for optimal performance

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other issues

• Recommend repair or replacement solutions

• Offer technical support via various communication channels

• Assist customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical issues

• Provide training and assist with project coordination

• Support trade shows and events as needed

• Maintain detailed service records

• Extensive travel required, including overnights and weekends

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

• 5+ years experience in CNC machine tool maintenance and service

• 5+ years experience in remote technical support

• Experience with machining centers and PLC programming

• Proficiency with CNC control systems like FANUC

• Knowledge of power circuits and industrial electrical systems

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills

• Willingness to travel extensively and work independently
