We are looking to hire for a forward-thinking company in the biotechnology industry seeking a skilled Leader of Business Opportunity Fostering in the United States to guide international licensing strategies for biological and curative resources.
This role is completely remote and is open to applicants anywhere in the USA. Although the company's main office is situated in Maryland, applicants aligned with Eastern Standard Time are highly desired to facilitate executive cooperation and fundamental business functions.
Essential Criteria
This position demands direct, recent familiarity with guiding licensed-out transactions in a biotech or pharmaceutical company. Applicants must presently hold or have very recently held a formal Business Opportunity role within a biotech or pharmaceutical entity. Expertise outside of biotech/pharmaceuticals (CROs, medical devices, healthcare services, or retail sales positions) will not meet the criteria for this role.
Role Overview
This senior executive will manage worldwide licensing strategies, pinpoint strategic biopharmaceutical partners, outline intricate transactions, and increase company worth through impactful collaborations.
Main Duties
• Direct global licensed-out initiatives for biological and curative programs
• Identify, assess, and authorize pharmaceutical and biotech partners
• Conduct thorough market research and competitive intelligence to position resources effectively
• Arrange and negotiate licensing contracts including valuations, milestone payments, royalties, and financial frameworks
• Formulate and present high-level business proposals and partnership suggestions to senior stakeholders
• Drive term sheet creation, due diligence, and interdisciplinary deal execution
• Coordinate with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and executive leadership to maximize portfolio worth
• Supervise partner performance post-deal to ensure contractual agreement and responsibility
Qualifications
• Direct, practical biotech licensed-out experience as a component of your recent Business Opportunity leadership duties
• Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical business opportunity and strategic licensing
• Proven success in negotiating intricate global licensing transactions
• Strong financial insight including resource valuation and deal structuring
• Comprehensive knowledge of curative development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategy
• High-level relationship management abilities with a history of generating tangible outcomes
• Capability to handle multiple high-stakes initiatives concurrently with precision and sensitivity
This is not a retail sales role. Eligible candidates must have carried out biotech licensed-out transactions in a formal Business Opportunity role.
