Job Title: Plant Engineer

Location: Mason City, Iowa

Salary: $125K – $155K plus bonus

Job Summary of the Plant Engineer: As the supervisor of the maintenance and engineering sector in a quick-moving factory, the Plant Engineer will be at the forefront of preserving top-notch building and equipment efficiency. By reducing mechanical downtimes and ensuring fluid product flow, you’ll keep our assembly lines operating at maximum efficiency. You'll lead the way in devising and executing cutting-edge maintenance systems, including Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and more, propelling our plant to new peaks as part of a High Performing Manufacturing Organization. As the leader of engineering operations, you will ensure our installations stay a cutting-edge food manufacturing process, creating and executing exceedingly innovative technology projects. In this position, you won’t just manage maintenance—you’ll boost it to new realms of efficiency and innovation!

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Plant Engineer:

· Oversee major projects from inception to conclusion.

· Coordinate all project components to ensure minimal interference with plant activities, completing projects on time, within budget, and upholding safety, food safety, or environmental standards.

· Lead the development and implementation of state-of-the-art maintenance systems that maintain our factory at peak operation.

· Assist in driving Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other impactful strategies, ensuring optimal scheduling that maximizes task completion with minimal downtime.

· Supervise the maintenance team by assigning tasks, enforcing regulations, and directing work duties.

· Act as the ultimate troubleshooter by providing immediate solutions and long-term resolutions to everyday operational issues. Whether investigating, analyzing problems, or addressing equipment malfunctions, you’ll ensure the smooth daily function of the factory with minimal recurring problems.

· Promote continuous enhancement by formulating and monitoring Key Performance Indicators that gauge the success of the maintenance function.

Education & Experience Requirements of Plant Engineer:

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or related field and 8+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

· 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required

Food Manufacturing experience.

· Change Management experience.

High level of leadership skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.

· Possesses advanced technical skills in the mechanical/electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) and is able to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.

· Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.

· Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment, interpret and communicate results.

· Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

· Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.

· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
