Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and every other Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm

Description:

Summary:

Seeking a Phlebotomist to assist with various assigned tasks, provide training, troubleshoot issues, and make recommendations for workflow improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

Experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, specimen centrifuging, data recording, patient information updates, etc.

Properly explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients in a clear and courteous manner

Demonstrate proficiency using straight needles and butterfly needles

Thoroughly understand all physician orders

Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed

Verify test requisitions for accuracy

Prepare specimens for transport

Adhere to proper specimen storage procedures and labeling requirements

Follow OSHA and DEP regulations

Participate in annual department trainings

Handle telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment

Minimum 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
