The Design Engineer for Products in Michigan City, IN will be responsible for creating innovative component-level products from initial concept to production. Working closely with various teams, they will ensure that components meet performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory standards.

• Generate new design layouts based on customer CAD data and specifications.
• Create cost estimates for new or modified designs.
• Oversee design projects from inception to manufacturing.
• Collect data from customer feedback and on-site visits to address and resolve prototype, pre-production, warranty, or product enhancement issues.
• Stay informed about customer needs and product usage.
• Conceive and develop new product concepts.
• Establish and implement departmental procedures following IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 guidelines.
• Provide support for all major platform engineering analysis requirements.
• Perform design calculations using manual or computerized methods.
• Utilize drafting techniques, engineering protocols, and CAD systems to determine optimal methods, equipment, and processes.
• Validate designs for compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Offer technical product expertise to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

· Engineering or Engineering Technology Bachelor's Degree.

· 3-5+ years of experience in a relevant product design field.

· Proficiency in CAD software.

· Familiarity with manufacturing processes.

· Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
