This is a temporary job opening with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Position: MLT - Medical Lab Technician/Phlebotomist
Location: Blacksburg, VA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm
Expected duration: 3-5 months with potential for permanent placement

Work in a POL setting performing duties in both MLT & Phlebotomy including tasks such as blood collection, Point of Care testing, urine microscopic analysis, and wet prep.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology
Responsibilities:
Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on set criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures following department SOPs. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instruments. Make technical decisions and solve problems. Test and evaluate new reagents and report results accurately and promptly. Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Replenish testing supplies and assist with specimen processing. Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate protective gear.
To qualify, candidates must meet CLIA standards for testing personnel. Requirements include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
- BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science with at least 1 year of experience in the specialty
- 90 Semester hours with specific coursework and clinical training
- Associate's Degree in Medical Technology
