Technology Systems Manager
Summary of the Role:
The Technology Systems Manager oversees the upkeep, setup, and effective operation of corporate-level server and network systems along with associated programs. They will deploy server and network hardware and software, engage in research and development to enhance and meet the IT needs of the organization. The Technology Systems Manager is also in charge of resolving networking and server system issues promptly to minimize work disruptions. They independently research and implement new technologies, create and adhere to project plans, and keep the team and department manager informed of project advancements.
Responsibilities:
Manage and sustain systems and network support for software, hardware, servers, and networks, troubleshooting and resolving related issues
Apply advanced security protocols to safeguard existing and new server and network systems
Conduct systems admin functions for Windows AD, Office 365, software updates, anti-virus, local systems, various communication systems, cloud systems, and backups
Handle network admin tasks for Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewall appliances
Create and maintain written documentation of server, network, and application environments for disaster recovery
Collaborate with Senior Systems Administrators, Senior Network Administrators, Helpdesk personnel, and end-users regarding system changes and future requirements
Ensure the reliability of virtual servers and virtualization environments
Upgrade server and network components/software and implement automation processes to streamline workflows
Troubleshoot server and network hardware/software errors, document problems and solutions, and assess issue impact
Provide documentation and technical specs to IT staff for infrastructure planning and upgrades
Assess current/future capacity, storage, and database performance of server and network systems
Communicate project updates and address issues escalated from the helpdesk department promptly
Enhance business unit synergies through technology systems integration
Identify ways to improve compatibility between existing server and network systems
Regularly audit local and cloud system access privileges
Automate repetitive systems/network administration functions to save time
Implement authentication measures to enhance security and create SSO environments
Maintain regular attendance
Follow supervisor's instructions and work in coordination with other departments
Requirements:
Experience (3 to 5 years) with:
Cisco Routing/Switching, Wireless Networks, IP, Advanced Protocols, LAN/WAN maintenance
Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory, O365/MS Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, RAID configurations
Desktop/laptop OS like Windows 10/11 for staff system impact testing
Monitoring/tuning server/network systems for optimal performance
VMware/virtualization systems experience (e.g., VMware 8)
Enterprise-level security software, IP telephony, hardware installations/upgrades
Knowledge/skills in problem-solving, communication, and effective teamwork
Associate degree in Computer Science (BS preferred) and/or relevant technical certification
Technical certification (e.g., MCSE, Azure Admin, VMware Certified Professional, Network+)
Industry-recognized networking certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP
