SAP Production Planning Lead
The Lead Production Scheduler plays a critical role in production scheduling, acting as an expert scheduler and key system subject matter expert for S/4HANA, PP/DS, and IBP at the site level in Stuarts Draft, VA.
Responsibilities include translating IBP aggregate plans into detailed production schedules, ensuring system optimization, data integrity, and process adherence.
As the go-to person, this role provides technical support, training, and guidance to junior schedulers, collaborates with IT and the Center of Excellence (CoE), and drives continuous improvement of planning systems and processes.
This senior-level site scheduler position requires deep technical expertise in SAP systems (S/4HANA, PP/DS), a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, and leadership in system optimization.
A. Production Scheduling (60%)
- Detailed Planning: Transform aggregate plans into detailed production schedules in S/4HANA, taking into account capacity constraints, material availability, and operational priorities.
- Optimization: Use PP/DS for finite capacity scheduling, sequencing optimization, and constraint-based planning.
- Exception Handling: Address planning exceptions, material shortages, and capacity conflicts in ERP systems.
- Collaboration: Work with various departments to ensure schedules are executable and aligned with plant capabilities.
- Efficiency: Balance priorities to create optimal schedules that meet service levels, inventory targets, and production efficiency goals.
- Teamwork: Liaise with other planners to ensure seamless plan execution.
B. System Expert & Super User (30%)
- Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for SAP systems integration.
- Data Management: Maintain and optimize production planning master data in collaboration with the CoE.
- Order Management: Ensure accuracy of Stock Transfer Orders and network transfer plans.
- Testing: Participate in system testing and validate planning logic.
C. Training, Development & Improvement (10%)
- Training: Train and mentor team members on system functionality and best practices.
- Sharing Knowledge: Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and promote best practices.
- Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
- Support: Provide inputs for site meetings and support change initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of SAP experience.
- Experience as a Super User in SAP planning modules.
- Familiarity with IBP integration and detailed planning flow.
