The primary role of a blood collection specialist is to support in executing assigned tasks, resolving issues, providing training, and suggesting workflow enhancements.
Position Responsibilities:
Experience with blood collections, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, decontamination, updating patient details, etc.
Gathers and preserves specimens following established protocols.
Clearly and politely explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures, demonstrating proper techniques using various needles.
Comprehends all physician instructions, matches requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens based on test orders.
Verifies test requisitions against scripts for accuracy, packages specimens for transportation.
Stores specimen samples at required temperatures and locations.
