Location: Oceanside CA

Schedule: 6AM to 6PM Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts may vary depending on location, covering may require early mornings or late evenings. Rotation for weekends, with possibly only 1 weekend a month.

Responsibilities:

The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist with various assigned tasks, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and recommend workflow improvements.

Position Responsibilities:

Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, decontamination, patient information updates, etc. Collect and store specimens following established procedures. Clearly explain the venipuncture process and collection of other specimens as needed. Demonstrate proper techniques using different needle types. Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately. Match requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. Double-check all requisitions for accuracy. Package specimens for transport, maintain specimen integrity during storage and transport. Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend department trainings and respond to inquiries over the phone.

Minimum Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, proficiency in Microsoft Office, High School Diploma or GED, 1-4 years of experience
