We are seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer for an expanding manufacturer specializing in innovative mechanical and electromechanical products for challenging defense, military, and medical sectors.

This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives on taking ownership of designs from inception to production while collaborating closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Create and adjust mechanical components, assemblies, enclosures, cable-related products, fixtures, and tooling

• Generate 3D CAD models and detailed production drawings using SolidWorks

• Establish and update BOMs, engineering change documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications

• Assess materials and manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and assembly techniques

• Resolve product and manufacturing challenges through engineering analysis and hands-on testing

• Assist with prototype builds, qualification testing, validation, and product enhancements

• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to enhance manufacturability, reliability, and repeatability

• Provide technical expertise for customer requirements, new-product quotes, and design modifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field

• Hands-on experience in mechanical design with manufactured products

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD software

• Experience with electromechanical assemblies, electronic products, connectors, or cable assemblies

• Knowledge of mechanical drawings, BOMs, ECRs, machining, and injection molding

• Understanding of product testing, validation, and engineering problem-solving

• Experience in regulated quality environments such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA, defense, aerospace, etc., is a plus
