As a Maintenance Tech in Columbus, OH, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and non-routine maintenance of equipment and facilities. This role involves performing all maintenance activities for mechanical systems and providing support for electrical maintenance. You will also assist equipment operators and mechanics in troubleshooting and operating plant equipment and systems. Additionally, you will be involved in project installation and start-up throughout the plant as required.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure safety and adhere to all policies. Perform preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment in the plant.

2. Provide support to other members of the Maintenance Team.

3. Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to:

a. Mechanical equipment such as pumps, tanks, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, etc.

b. Plant processes including the Soap System, bin storage, boilers, air compressors, etc.

c. Operating equipment, control systems, and devices.

d. General plant electrical systems such as intercoms, lighting, grounding systems, and alarms.

4. Provide project support for mechanical systems, including installation of equipment such as new packing lines, pumps, tanks, conveyors, dryers, and ancillary equipment.

Knowledge:

1) Mechanical:

a) Proficiency in welding and operating TIG/MIG/Plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and basic machining.

b) Skill in operating band saws, drill presses, sheet metal brakes, and other shop equipment.

c) Ability to perform pipe fabrication and layout according to drawings.

d) Understanding and repair of mechanical equipment such as pumps, seals (including mechanical seals), hydraulic operated machines, and gearboxes.

e) Familiarity with lubricating oils and greases.

2) Electrical:

a) Basic knowledge of electrical power, including voltages and amps.

3) Proficiency in operating forklifts and similar equipment.

4) Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
