We are seeking an experienced lead estimator for a key role within an established estimating team. The position available is for a Senior Estimator or Chief Estimator, depending on the candidate’s leadership background. This opportunity is based in Fort Wayne, IN, and relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate.

Our team works on negotiated and hard-bid projects in the industrial, higher education, restaurant, and nonprofit sectors, ranging in value from $100,000 to $100 million.

Responsibilities

• Generate estimates from concept to construction documents

• Analyze drawings, specifications, scopes, and self-performed tasks

• Conduct digital quantity takeoffs and establish accurate pricing

• Utilize Timberline for estimating and Procore for subcontractor outreach

• Foster relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and architects

• Create preconstruction, procurement, and construction schedules

• Develop work packages and compile turnover materials for project management

• Enhance estimating procedures, accuracy, and project transitions

• In a Chief Estimator role, oversee the department, assign tasks, mentor estimators, and ensure accountability

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in commercial construction estimating, typically seven years or more

• Leadership experience in an estimating department for Chief-level consideration

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field

• Proficient in commercial plans, specifications, and CSI divisions

• Familiarity with estimating and digital takeoff software

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

• Preference for experience with Timberline, Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
