Equipment Project Lead

My client, a global manufacturer generating more than $900MM in sales worldwide, is an industry leader specializing in carbon and graphite products. They are currently seeking a Project Lead / Facilities Manager / Senior Mechanical Engineer to spearhead ongoing capital equipment projects aimed at upgrading their entire plant located near Nashville, TN.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced facilities or plant manager with a mechanical background to oversee major investment projects within a rapidly expanding manufacturing operation. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold U.S. Citizenship. The company’s operations are involved in U.S. Defense Department projects, therefore adherence to ITAR Rules is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. While other engineering degrees may be considered, a strong aptitude for mechanical engineering is crucial for this position.
  • A minimum of 10 – 20 years of engineering experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience managing capital projects totaling $5 – $10 million is required. Demonstrated proficiency in tracking capital projects and ability to follow through Design – RFQ – Execution is essential.
  • Experience in supervising engineers and project managers is a must.
  • Proven track record in contract review and negotiation is required.
  • Experience in working on commercial projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed equipment and utilities schematics, drawings, and specifications (P&ID and equipment drawings) is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including training in root cause analysis, are required.
  • Demonstrated participative management style when it comes to problem-solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement objectives is essential.
  • Experience in plant/facility maintenance support, work order, and maintenance systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with plant maintenance systems such as boilers and power distribution is advantageous.
COMPENSATION: Base salary ranging from $100K to $120K + potential of up to 15% in annual bonuses.
