This Construction Cost Analyst will spearhead the identification of new project prospects and secure preconstruction presentations to ensure a robust pipeline of exciting future work for a commercial General Contractor. The Construction Cost Analyst will oversee all preconstruction estimation activities, as well as recruit, train, delegate, and mentor department members to best support the leadership and project management team in achieving success in all upcoming projects.

Overview:
• Summary Description: The Senior Estimator takes the lead and participates in the preparation of estimates for construction projects
• Conduct constructability analysis by identifying design and constructability issues
• Compile bid packages for complex scopes that accurately convey desired bid scope and requirements to trades
• Develop value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-effective
• Prepare a detailed estimate of the entire scope of assigned trades, building system, and/or overall project cost
• Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents to identify any necessary scope not indicated
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals related to their work scope
• Determine coverage of the scope and manage the risk of scope gaps
• Drive cost efficiencies through ongoing process improvement in estimation
Responsibilities:
• Conduct complete quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all items within the assigned scope.
• Perform constructability analysis by identifying design and constructability issues.
• Compile bid packages for complex scopes that accurately convey desired bid scope and requirements to trades.
• Develop value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-effective.
• Prepare a detailed estimate of the entire scope of assigned trades, building system, and/or overall project cost.
• Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents to identify any necessary scope not indicated.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals related to their work scope.
• Determine coverage of the scope and manage the risk of scope gaps.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency in software, including MS Office Suite, project management software, bid management software, and scheduling software (P6 or similar).
• Ability to implement new technologies for the benefit of projects.
