Job Requirements:
Responsibilities include managing commercial new construction, additions, remodels, and tenant improvement projects. Projects typically range from $100,000 to $5 million in valuation. The project portfolio includes multi-use and office/retail spaces, primarily geared towards commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate should have 1-2+ years of relevant experience in assistant project management or commercial construction. A bachelor’s degree is required, and candidates near graduation or with relevant Construction Management/Architectural Degrees are encouraged to apply. Experience as a Construction Field Engineer, APM, or PE is also essential. Proficiency in specific software is not required, as training will be provided. This position is for local candidates only, and relocation assistance will not be provided.
Position Description:

As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you will work closely with the Project Manager (PM) throughout the entire construction process, from preconstruction to project completion. You will collaborate with estimators and be responsible for the project’s financial success. As a primary point of contact for the owner, you will ensure client satisfaction by coordinating with the PM. This is an opportunity to be fully involved in the construction process and make a meaningful contribution to project success.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Understanding that client satisfaction, budget maintenance, profitability, and schedule adherence are the main objectives of each project.
  • Writing comprehensive scopes of work into subcontract exhibits.
  • Ability to create and modify a CPM schedule based on project needs.
  • Basic knowledge of scheduling to support the project staff.
  • Collaborating with the project Superintendent and leading the project when necessary to maintain the schedule.
  • Understanding project risks.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record for the past 12 consecutive months (no DUIs in the past 36 months).
  • Background checks are mandatory as part of the hiring process.
