Our client is seeking a Lead Construction Manager to oversee their commercial construction projects in Nashville, TN. This role involves managing projects from conception to completion while ensuring that project teams meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial renovations, hospitality, and repurposing of older buildings.

As the Lead Construction Manager, you will maintain client relations by providing regular project updates and facilitating communication between the architectural, design, and construction teams and the client. You will be responsible for overseeing project budgets, schedules, and client expectations for commercial renovations and new builds. Additionally, you will coordinate meetings, observe project performance, and ensure timely completion of project documents.

Financial analysis of projects is also a key responsibility of the Lead Construction Manager, with a focus on prioritizing profitability. You will work closely with the Managing Partner to ensure that project scopes and directions are on schedule.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years of proven experience in project management in the commercial construction field, preferably in a General Contractor capacity. You should also possess leadership skills to effectively manage project teams of varying sizes. A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering is required.

Responsibilities:

– Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for project execution

– Assist in defining project scope and objectives with relevant stakeholders

– Allocate and monitor resource availability

– Develop detailed project plans to track progress

– Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs

– Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

– Develop project plans to share with clients and staff

– Facilitate change requests and communicate impacts on schedule and budget

Requirements:

– Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

– Experience in commercial renovations, hospitality, and repurposing of older buildings

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office

– Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience

– Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous
