Millwork Project Manager

Our client is a leading architectural millwork contractor based in Alabama. They specialize in high-profile projects, such as athletic facilities, hospitals, corporate headquarters, educational buildings, and places of worship.
REMOTE WORK is available for this position, but candidates must reside within 250 miles of Tuscaloosa, AL. Occasional travel to the office will be required.

The Millwork Project Manager is responsible for overseeing every aspect of a project, including submittals, fabrication, and installation.

This role requires a high level of expertise in maintaining quality and accuracy. Successful job performance requires drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach. The job environment is structured and clear expectations are provided. While the work pace is fast, quality is never compromised. Communication and relationships are based on technical expertise. The work involves technical problem solving, ingenuity, and adherence to organizational systems and technology. Integrity, quality, and caution are highly valued. New ideas and concepts are welcomed but carefully analyzed before implementation. When managing others, enforcing policies, procedures, and meeting deadlines is crucial.


  • Manage all assigned projects
  • Collaborate with customers to determine project schedule and flow
  • Establish milestone and target dates, and communicate them clearly to customers
  • Ensure accuracy of shop drawings before submission and release
  • Obtain necessary field dimensions or coordinate data collection
  • Plan for long lead time materials and extended production timelines
  • Manage both internal and subcontracted field staff
  • Provide critical oversight for the company
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with other managers to improve workflows and reduce friction points
  • Attention to detail is essential


  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in the architectural millwork or woodworking industry
  • Experience with projects ranging from $1-5 million
  • Experience in managing subcontractors
  • Two-year degree or higher from a technical school or university
  • Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
