Secure System Developer

The position of a Secure System Developer is currently available in Linthicum Heights, MD. Our esteemed client is seeking an individual who is customer-focused and a team player, ready to work on-site in a mission-oriented environment. The successful candidate should possess strong communication skills, be a self-starter, and have the ability to collaborate with various teams throughout the design, development, and test process.
We are currently hiring a Test/Software Engineer with a focus on software development to validate and test cryptographic products. The engineer will be responsible for integrating, installing, and testing operational software/equipment to ensure compliance with system design, requirements, and standards. The critical duties of the engineer will involve conducting extensive security verification tests on cryptographic products and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the system. Adaptability, motivation, customer orientation, and willingness to mentor others while staying abreast of new technologies are highly desirable traits of the ideal candidate.
Requirements:
● Active TS/SCI Clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
● Proficiency in Python coding language
● Proficiency in C coding language
● Testing and debugging experience through practical involvement
● Ability to analyze system requirements and derive corresponding tests for validation
● Ability to write effective tests using Python for system testing
● Skilled in debugging existing software and addressing defects
● Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to develop and define systems for testing cryptographic products
● Prepare or review test plans and system documentation
● Contribute to recommendations for enhancing documentation and development process standards
● Aid in the development and execution of test procedures for software components
● Assist in modifying software to rectify errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
● Collaborate in the coordination of software system installation and monitor equipment performance to ensure adherence to operational specifications
Other Highly Desirable Experience:
● Embedded software development
● FPGA experience
● Strong knowledge of cryptographic protocols, hardware, and software
Education/Experience:
Mid-Career: The candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science along with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in test and/or software development. Alternatively, an additional four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted for the educational qualification.
Senior: The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in test and/or software development. Additionally, the candidate can substitute the educational qualification with an additional four (4) years of relevant experience.
