An accomplished Finance Lead is sought by the Division Controller of a large Manufacturing company in Glenview, IL. This important role is open due to an internal promotion.

This organization prioritizes internal promotions every 2 years, providing ample opportunity for career advancement within divisions and between corporate and division positions. The company boasts a highly tenured workforce.

The division being managed is worth $600 million and the Finance Lead will oversee a team of 5 professionals.

Job Description

The Finance Lead will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes within the division, maintaining compliance with policies, controls, and GAAP standards. Additionally, the Finance Lead will support divisional leaders by providing forecasting, reporting, and analysis support. This individual will also manage the accounting staff and guide their responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of business and financial information, ensuring compliance with policies and US GAAP. Develop and implement financial reporting systems that exceed requirements for both internal and external audits.
  • Manage the accounts receivable function and supervise the accounting team members who handle a high volume of transactions with customers and vendors.
  • Lead the monthly close process and consolidation procedures, diligently reviewing the work of the accounting staff.
  • Effectively communicate financial information, including plans, actual results, and outlook, to key stakeholders. Provide comprehensive knowledge of highlights and variances.
  • Support the Division Controller and leadership team in achieving division goals and objectives, such as the annual operating plan, long-range strategic plans, capital investments, and other special projects.
  • Identify, develop, and mentor talent to maximize individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. Foster a culture of engagement and accountability.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, as well as handle other corporate requests.
  • Play a critical role in implementing future business systems and tools.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in Accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to analyze financial data and create reports, statements, and projections.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of accounting professionals
  • Highly intelligent professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation and interpersonal skills that allow for effective interaction with individuals at all levels.
  • Excellent proficiency in ERP and BI systems, as well as Microsoft Office software

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
