Firmware Developer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Firmware Developer to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD. As a customer-focused team player, you will work on-site in a mission-oriented environment and collaborate with multiple teams throughout the design process. We are seeking a self-starter with excellent communication skills who can conceptualize, code, and validate software and embedded firmware for secure microprocessor based systems. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to lead a small team and mentor others while staying adaptable and motivated to learn new technologies.
Qualifications:
• Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
• Proficiency in C coding language
• Ability to analyze user requirements and derive software solutions
• Experience debugging existing software and correcting defects
• Knowledge of algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards
• Ability to draft and review software and system documentation
• Expertise in modifying software systems and predicting design consequences using scientific analysis and mathematical models
• Proficient in complex algorithms and performing quality control on team products
• Strong recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
• Ability to integrate multiple operational platforms in an integrated environment
• Familiarity with integrating software products, techniques, and management processes across various systems, applications, and requirements
• Experience integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Skilled in developing and executing test procedures for software components
• Strong analytical skills in system performance standards, systems flow, data usage, and work processes
• Ability to investigate and provide software solutions for problem areas
• Capacity to modify software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
• Proficient in deriving software requirements and obtaining project information on limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces
• Knowledge of coordinating software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
• Ability to serve as the team lead at the appropriate level for the software development process on any particular project

Other Highly Desirable Experience:
• Development of NSA TYPE 1 security products using NSA IA security practices
• Experience with FPGA based processors such as Xilinx MicroBlaze or Intel Nios/Nios-II
• Cryptographic algorithm development
• NSA Type-1 SV testing
• Python scripting

Education/Experience:
For the Mid-Career level, you should have at least four years of software development experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Alternatively, you may have an additional four years of experience instead of the education requirement.
For the Senior level, you should have at least ten years of software development experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Alternatively, you may have an additional four years of experience instead of the education requirement.
