Engineer of Information Systems


Position Title: Engineer of Information Systems

Reports To: Director of Engineering


  • Extract requirements from client or company (IRAD) requests
  • Create subordinate requirements for components, suppliers, or other fields
  • Offer technical advice and assistance to electrical, software, firmware, and mechanical engineers
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including diagrams, acceptance test procedures (ATPs), interface documents, analysis reports, and user manuals.
  • Perform system integration and testing in the lab, including configuring test setups and utilizing electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable sources and loads, etc).
  • Conduct system level ATPs in the lab, external test facilities, and/or at client sites
  • Collaborate with Senior Systems Engineer and Director of Engineering to ensure compliance with system design and architecture
  • Assist in technical reviews by creating slides, attending, and/or presenting (Kick Off Meeting, Systems Requirements Review, System Design Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Prototype Manufacturing Readiness Review, Test Readiness Review and Production Readiness Review)
  • Clearly communicate problems and potential solutions to all internal/external parties


  • Citizen of the United States
  • Preferred 5 – 10 years’ experience in a highly technical research and development, engineering, or manufacturing environment, or equivalent
  • Proven proficiency in the technical development and/or analysis of engineering applications (electrical, mechanical, hardware, firmware, software, etc.)
  • Lab experience with electrical test equipment such as AC/DC sources, signal generators, programmable loads, oscilloscopes, power meters, and multimeters
  • At least 3-5 years’ involvement in leading technical projects
  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team to meet customer and company goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and Project)
  • Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering is a plus
  • Experience collaborating with various fields such as electronics, mechanical, software, and management
  • Experience in imaging processing, power management aerospace, defense, or medical products
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field (electrical engineering, computer science, applied physics, or applied mathematics)
