Senior Embedded Software Engineer Lead


Our prestigious client is seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented, and innovative software engineer lead to join our team in developing safety-critical program code for unmanned aerial vehicle and ground station systems. This role involves complete life cycle development in a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on adhering to DO-178C guidelines. The software is created using model-based software tools, and experience with SCADE Suite is a plus. Responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and oversee local team of embedded software engineers

· Collaborate with Spanish team to fulfill software requirements

· Code writing for unmanned aircraft system command and control

· Code writing for modems/radios onboard the aircraft and control system

· Code writing for payloads onboard our clients unmanned aircraft systems

· Independently understand interface requirements and compose low-level code to remotely manage modem, radio, and payload systems

· Collaborate with team members to establish aircraft networking architecture, communication protocol, and equipment requirements

Develop safety-critical and mission-critical software utilizing SCADE

· Decompose and derive software requirements for safety, security, performance, and baseline functionality

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient and secure code

Document software design

Support software testing and systems engineering in reviewing and updating design


· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar field with a minimum of 10 years of experience

· Proven track record in designing, prototyping, and testing reliable software with at least 10 years of experience

· Experience in designing flight-critical software architectures

· Experience leading or managing a team of software engineers

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s Degree or PhD in Software Engineering or relevant field

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace, automotive, railway, or defense industries in embedded software development

· Familiarity with MIL-STD software development

· Experience in development under ARP-4754, DO-254, DO-178

· Extensive experience in C/C++ programming
