Location

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to work remotely from a home office in the field (after initial training period) and travel to customer locations in Cleveland, OH.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and is a combination of salary (up to $130K salary) PLUS bonus potential (0-40% bonus plan after 1 year. Timing negotiable for right candidate.)

Opportunity Summary

Our client designs and manufactures custom dry-type transformers, SCR controllers, and specialty AC, and DC drives that are sold into broad industrial manufacturing industries ranging from automotive to steel manufacturing. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for product sales primarily in North American markets. Job Duties

  • Manage product sales goals within North American markets.
  • Conduct research, contact, schedule, and engage in sales meetings with customer accounts as a product expert, building relationships, providing product demos, and reviewing customer processes and applications.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations and demonstrations to both new and existing customers.
  • Offer targeted training to key customers on setup, configuration, and operation of the Company’s digital products.
  • Identify and cultivate new customers within similar industry segments as well as new industry segments.
  • Expand market share among existing customers.
  • Develop in-depth application expertise on Company products.
  • Pursue opportunities for retro-fits of legacy products or competitor’s products.
  • Provide reports on product sales, market trends, competition, strategy, risk, and opportunities.
  • Analyze and report on factors driving customer value for specific customers, products, applications, or industry segments.
  • Compose detailed trip reports documenting sales call activity.
  • Create customer proposals, negotiate contracts, enter and process orders, and invoice customers.
  • Participate in trade show events and follow-up with prospective customers. Present product features as required.
  • Occasionally attend joint sales calls with Manufacturer Reps or Distributors.
  • Effectively collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, sales, and management as a product expert.
  • Estimated travel: 50-70% with occasional international travel.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Sales experience with technical product(s), utilizing solution selling or a value-for-price approach, preferably within similar Industrial customers.
  • Strong presentation skills for delivering before an audience.
  • Highly organized with excellent planning skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in sales, including developing new customer accounts and building/maintaining relationships.
  • Aptitude for technical products, applications, and customer-valued features.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
