  • The successful candidate will serve as a nursing assistant in a long term care facility, demonstrating a commitment to providing excellent care to residents. They will assist with the daily needs of residents, ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires adherence to federal and state regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. Regular audits and investigations may be required. The nursing care assistant will also provide leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing for two nursing homes.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a proven history of success, and extensive knowledge of operations, human resources, budgeting, reimbursement, compliance with NYS DOH regulations, and quality and safety measures.
  • The candidate must also have clinical competency in resident care to fulfill clinical leadership duties as needed.
  • The Assistant Director of Nursing will report directly to the Administrative Director Nursing for the Long Term Care Division.

  • The candidate must have previous experience in a managerial or assistant director role, demonstrating positive leadership abilities.
  • The candidate must have the ability to adapt to change and foster an environment that supports change.
  • The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • The candidate should be skilled in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with staff, residents, and families.
  • The candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for residents and families.
  • The candidate should be capable of mentoring and developing others.
  • The candidate must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • EDUCATION:
  • Minimum: Graduate of an accredited school or Registered Professional Nursing with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree or willingness to actively pursue.
    Preferred: BSN
  • Licensure:
  • A valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing License is required.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum:
  • At least four years of managerial experience and two years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a Long Term Care setting.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with New York State Department of Health regulations and survey process, as well as clinical competency.
  • Preferred:
    Prior experience in an Assistant Director position
  • ADDITIONAL:
  • Minimum:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with others (staff, medical staff, other department managers, and the public) in a resident and family-centered environment.
  • Proven ability to handle stressful and adverse scenarios with residents and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including word processing, spreadsheets, and power point.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with PRI and MDS; Proficient with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.

  • Geneva is a city located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Situated at the northern end of Seneca Lake, it offers scenic beauty, a rich history, and a variety of attractions throughout the four seasons. The area is known for its quality wineries and wine trails.
    Ithaca, situated on Cayuga Lake, is home to Cornell University and features high gorges with picturesque waterfalls, including Taughannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls.
    Watkins Glen State Park, located near the tip of Seneca Lake, showcases rocky cliffs and cascading waterfalls, perfect for trout fishing. The Corning Museum of Glass is a short drive southwest, and to the north is the Old Erie Canal, offering opportunities for hiking, canoeing, and fishing.
