Plant Manager

Candidates must have experience and demonstrated success in large complex automotive manufacturing operations
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all plant operations in Columbus, GA. This role ensures that customer requirements are met on the plant floor in a timely manner. The Plant Manager directs and coordinates activities to optimize efficiency, maximize profits, and meet production, quality, and safety standards.
  • Manage plant operational activities to ensure associate safety, high product quality, and adherence to production schedules while managing costs within budget
  • Achieve budgetary targets and manage financial results
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to drive operational improvements
  • Analyze plant budget to identify areas for cost reductions
  • Set objectives to meet production, quality, and safety standards
  • Oversee overall plant activities, including evaluating performance
  • Drive positive change and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPS, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Implement changes in methods, planning, and processing to meet or exceed forecasts and control costs
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and enforce safe working practices
  • Lead continuous improvement activities for the plant
  • Maintain consistent customer satisfaction by meeting their requirements and proactively addressing any issues
  • Develop and mentor operational leaders
  • Create and execute manufacturing strategy to achieve financial performance and customer service goals
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company safety rules
Education and Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA)
  • Recent experience managing an Automotive manufacturing plant
  • Certified in Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Production System and/or other problem-solving methodologies
  • Proven track record of selecting and developing competent professional staff
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement
  • Proficient in profit loss statements and balance sheet financial reporting
  • Experience with data-driven or metrics-driven management systems
  • Familiarity with TS-16949 policies and procedures
  • Experience with new program launches
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
  • Ability to motivate a team, drive results, and delegate authority
  • Effective multitasking abilities
