JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this role will be responsible for achieving service gross profit targets, managing the operations department, and maintaining a strong customer base. This position involves working closely with customers to fulfill contractual obligations for HVAC and electrical systems. Additionally, the HVAC Operations Supervisor will work with a team and subcontractors to manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring profitability and completing required documentation, such as weekly reports. This role will also encompass the design, estimation, and proposal of new service projects, as well as upgrades to existing contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attain planned gross profit by effectively managing the team.

• Organize and delegate work according to job descriptions and procedures, facilitating agreement on objectives with subordinates.

• Conduct thorough audits and document the performance of subordinates, ensuring appropriate follow-up.

• Conduct regular site visits to inspect equipment and equipment rooms, ensuring optimal performance.

• Provide clear instructions, guidance, and logistical support to field teams to maximize productivity and efficiency.

• Foster a motivated team and maintain high employee morale.

• Oversee labor costs by appropriately staffing jobs.

• Promptly address customer complaints to ensure satisfactory resolution and long-term relationships.

• Conduct customer C.A.R.E.(S) to promote lasting relationships.

• Respond promptly to customer needs to ensure satisfactory resolution and maintain long-term relationships.

• Provide support to the sales force as needed.

• Manage and monitor the effective use of equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring efficient field operations.

• Achieve or exceed expense targets as outlined in the annual plan.

• Train and motivate subordinates, implementing programs to enhance individual and team skills.

• Ensure the technical abilities of the field force align with current contractual commitments and market strategy.

• Conduct regular status reporting and review meetings with subordinates and supervisors.

• Compile information and observations to make recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding service operations.

• Forecast workforce, manpower, organizational changes, vehicle requirements, and actual gross profit levels.

• Effectively negotiate price escalations for existing agreements upon renewal.

• Respond swiftly to cancellation notices, attempting to retain the customer and achieve a contract renewal rate of at least 92%.

• Collaborate with the operations manager to establish crew size guidelines and monitor adherence to policies. Recommend adjustments based on the annual operating plan, performance, and business needs.

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Achieve a minimum of $450,000 in project sales.

• Promote new business and upgrades to existing contracts by directing subordinates to generate and report leads and sales opportunities.

• Provide sales personnel with qualified leads and stay informed about competitive sales efforts.

• Generate 6 leads for the construction team annually.

• Encourage field technicians to propose and close at least one opportunity per month.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the hiring process, conduct interviews, and participate in the review and discipline of subordinates as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Service Technician, Service Manager, Project Sales Representative, or Operations Manager.

• 5 years of experience managing commercial accounts.

• 5 years of experience in commercial, educational, governmental, or industrial facility management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

• Strong organizational abilities.

• Professionalism, tact, and negotiation skills.

• Effective time management skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. Standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, will be used.

• Required to drive to business appointments and job sites.

• Must be able to climb ladders for equipment access.

• Open mechanical equipment and conduct visual inspections, adhering to safety guidelines and proper training.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, tools, or controls, ascend stairs or ladders, and communicate. The employee may occasionally need to lift or move office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
