Laundry Equipment Technician

We are looking for candidates with experience in the field of commercial laundry equipment to join our team as a Laundry Equipment Technician. Our company manufactures, sells, and services industrial laundry equipment for clients in the linen service and uniform service plant industry in both the United States and Canada.

*REQUIRED: PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT*
Experience with commercial laundry equipment preferred

Location: Chicago, IL
Travel: Monday-Friday travel required

Job Summary:

As a Laundry Equipment Technician at our company, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at customer establishments. You will also provide technical assistance and support other service initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical support to customers, sales managers, and engineering staff
  • Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate equipment at customer locations
  • Train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and repair
  • Repair worn or defective equipment at customer plants
  • Assist with incoming calls from customers and field service personnel
  • Resolve customer concerns and problems effectively
  • Study blueprints and observe machine layout in the manufacturer’s plant to understand machine operation and plant processes
  • Collaborate with leadership to address machine design problems and prevent installation issues
  • Conduct trial runs at customer establishments to ensure quality and production meet specifications
  • Obtain client approval for equipment acceptance on new installations
  • Handle customer help desk calls when not scheduled for fieldwork
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial plant maintenance or equipment sector
  • Preferably have experience with commercial laundry equipment
  • Mechanical skills with additional knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, controls, and computers
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience in plumbing, sheet metal work, rigging, electrical work, and structural work
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is desirable
  • Willingness to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service
