Equipment Technician

We are looking for individuals with experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial laundry equipment for the position of Equipment Technician. This role is with a company that specializes in manufacturing, selling, and servicing industrial laundry equipment for clients in the linen service or uniform service industry in the United States and Canada.


Location: North Syracuse, NY
Hours/Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Job Summary:

As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to ensure customer satisfaction with the industrial equipment. This includes troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues through phone and email support, as well as customer training on equipment operation and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to service calls on the customer support help desk and offer technical support for industrial equipment.
  • Assist customers, sales managers, and engineering staff with technical inquiries.
  • Support customers with ordering parts and supplies.
  • Deliver training to customer personnel over the phone and via email, enabling them to effectively troubleshoot equipment installation, operation, and repair.
  • Consult with customers on variations in machine operation and provide explanations for any changes.
  • Identify and resolve complex equipment problems.
  • Address customer concerns and effectively solve problems.
  • Utilize manufacturer’s blueprints to understand machine operation.
  • Prepare estimates for service work and generate invoices for billable services.
  • Schedule service technicians for on-site service calls.
  • At least 1 year of experience in industrial plant maintenance or equipment sector.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly for industrial machines.
  • Mechanical aptitude, with additional skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, controls, and computers.
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in working with PLC-controlled equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this role involves significant customer service responsibilities.
