Dental Practitioner

We are seeking a Dental Practitioner to provide excellent patient care to individuals seeking dental treatment. This includes addressing acute conditions and routine care. The Dental Practitioner will also contribute to population health efforts by adhering to clinical quality measures and utilizing data to monitor and improve outcomes. Accurate and detailed clinical documentation must be submitted in accordance with federal, state, and organizational standards. Additionally, participation in professional practice evaluation and peer review activities is expected. The Dental Practitioner will also serve as a resource for Registered Dental Hygienists.

Essential Clinical Responsibilities:

• Administer care to an active panel of patients, including acute and routine conditions, while adhering to professional standards of care and organizational policies

• Deliver high-quality patient care for acute and routine cases, following department and organizational scheduling protocols

• Perform dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and root canals, using best practices and appropriate techniques

• Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and enhance outcomes for diverse patient populations, thus supporting population health efforts

• Coordinate care and ensure continuity by referring patients for laboratory tests, diagnostic tests, and specialty consults, and by appropriately following up on reports

• Provide accurate and timely clinical documentation, complying with federal, state, third-party payer, and organizational standards for documentation, coding, and billing

• Adhere to clinical and administrative quality measures through ongoing professional practice evaluation

• Participate in clinical call rotations and serve as a backup resource during after-hours coverage or emergencies when needed

• Collaborate with providers within the department and across the organization, ensuring consistent care management in line with organizational standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited dental school and residency program

• Eligible for board certification

• Valid dentist license in the State of Connecticut

• Valid DEA and Connecticut Controlled Substance permit

• Healthcare provider-level CPR certification, or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire

• Strong orientation towards community health and public health

• Experience with CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of dental practice experience, especially in a multi-provider dental group

• Experience serving socioeconomically diverse populations

• Familiarity with federally qualified health centers
