Fire Safety Engineer
The position of Fire Safety Engineer in Baltimore, MD involves the design and development of fire protection systems for various projects.
Responsibilities:
– Undertake design work for multi-discipline projects.
– Develop comprehensive fire protection packages.
– Collaborate on projects for a diverse portfolio of clients.
– Design and coordinate fire protection systems.
– Address fire water supply infrastructure.
– Design outdoor fire suppression systems.
– Develop fire alarm systems.
– Implement releasing systems for different fire suppression systems.
– Conduct fire protection calculations.
– Evaluate building and life safety requirements.
– Provide construction administration.
– Perform site evaluations.
– Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
– Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes.
– Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
– Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
– 3 years of fire protection engineering experience.
Or:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection or related Engineering Technology.
– Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
– 3 years of fire protection engineering experience.
Or:
– Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
– 2 years of fire protection engineering experience.
Additional Requirements:
– Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
– Familiarity with building codes, fire codes, and NFPA standards.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
– Proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
– Ability to obtain and maintain access authorization to client facilities and data.
– Engineers in Training-EIT Certification (Preferred).
– NICET certification in Water-Based System Layout (Preferred) or NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Preferred) or NICET certification in Special Hazard Systems (Preferred).
