Fire Safety Expert

We are seeking a Fire Safety Expert to join our team of fire protection professionals. This exciting position is based in Los Angeles, CA and offers a variety of challenging projects to work on.

As a member of our fire protection engineering team, you will have the opportunity to design a wide range of fire and life safety systems. These systems include sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, fire pumps, smoke management systems, and fire alarm systems. In addition, you will be involved in building code and life safety code reviews, hazardous materials review, and analysis of building egress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the production of construction drawings using various software programs

  • Preparing comprehensive fire protection packages

  • Coordinating projects internally and externally

  • Providing quality review and oversight of assigned projects

  • Preparing and presenting technical reports for clients

  • Building relationships with clients and developing new business opportunities

  • Mentoring and developing junior team members

  • Applying fire protection engineering principles to troubleshoot and solve client problems

  • Performing site evaluations and documenting existing fire protection systems

  • Reviewing contractor shop drawings and field inspections

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Technology or a related field and at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, you may have an Associate’s Degree in a related field with 11 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience.

  • Ability to obtain NICET Level III certifications in Water-Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, or Special Hazard Systems within one year of employment

  • Must have the ability to access facilities and data of existing and potential clients

  • Familiarity with building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, and other relevant guidelines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

  • Familiarity with Revit preferred

  • Ability to solve challenging problems and work well in a team environment

Compensation Range

The salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
