Senior Fire Safety Expert

As a member of our fire protection engineering team, you will be responsible for designing a range of fire and life safety systems. These systems include sprinkler systems (wet, dry, preaction, and deluge), fire suppression systems (foam, water spray, clean agent, and wet and dry chemical), fire pumps, water tanks, standpipes, smoke management systems, and building fire alarm and mass notification systems. Your role will also involve building and life safety code reviews, hazardous materials reviews, designing and analyzing building egress and passive fire protection systems, and evaluating existing buildings for compliance with fire codes. Additionally, you will be involved in the construction and commissioning process.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Produce construction drawings using various software tools like AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Microstation, Smart Plant, PDS, and Revit.

  • Design and prepare comprehensive fire protection packages, including fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke evacuation, and life safety drawings, calculations, and specifications.

  • Coordinate internal and external project activities.

  • Ensure quality in assigned projects through thorough review and oversight.

  • Prepare and deliver technical reports to clients.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors, as well as develop new business opportunities.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and development for junior team members in fire protection.

  • Apply sound fire protection engineering principles to troubleshoot and solve client issues.

  • Conduct site evaluations and document existing fire protection systems. Address design-related installation issues with field personnel.

  • Review contractor shop drawings, perform field inspections, and assess testing and commissioning reports.


Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Technology or a related field, along with 7 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, an Associate’s Degree in a related field with 11 years of experience, or 12 years of experience, will be accepted.

  • Ability to obtain NICET Level III certification in Water-Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, or Special Hazard Systems within one year of employment. Multiple NICET certifications are strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access authorization to facilities and data of existing and potential clients, including government agencies, aerospace corporations, and others.

  • Familiarity with building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, FM Global datasheets, military standards, and refinery/industrial API guidelines is highly desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, are required.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with great attention to detail, capable of prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with Revit is preferred, but a willingness and ability to learn new software is essential.

  • Capable of successfully solving challenging problems that may require adapting and modifying standard techniques.

  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization.

Compensation Range

$145,000 – $200,000

The expected compensation range for this position complies with all local/state regulations. It is determined based on various factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and location. The total annual compensation package consists of a base salary, as well as eligibility for our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
