Description
The Staff Structural Engineer will be responsible for developing exceptional designs for new projects, renovations, and reconstructions across a diverse range of sectors such as power, corporations, healthcare, airport pipelines, institutions, factories, government, and military establishments. Collaborating closely with the project team, the Staff Structural Engineer will adapt structural plans based on budget limitations, design aspects, and client requirements during both the design and construction phases.

  • Conduct structural design for projects from initial conception to finalization.
  • Revise and assess production drawings for various projects including power plants, manufacturing facilities, healthcare centers, airports, educational institutions, commercial enterprises, and government/military structures.
  • Create structural components based on project managers’ specifications and necessities.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of commonly used structural engineering and design procedures, codes, principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Research and compile project-related data as requested by project managers.
  • Verify and update drawings provided by senior engineers, ensuring accuracy in multiple CAD-related software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration of designs for power facilities, processes, pipelines, factories, healthcare centers, airports, educational institutions, commercial enterprises, and government/military structures.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients from both public and private sectors.
  • Carry out other assigned duties.
  • Adhere to all company policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program, and possess at least 3 years of experience in structural engineering; or
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering Technology or a related field from an ABET-accredited program, have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and possess at least 3 years of experience in structural engineering; or
  • Possess a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibit an ability to work systematically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, along with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Possess solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Have expertise in structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, and BIM software (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
  • Show meticulous attention to detail, and possess facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT).
