Regional Reliability Lead

Must have experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.

In this position, you will report to the Director of Process & Reliability and be located at our facility. As the Senior Regional Reliability Manager, your responsibility will be to take strategic ownership of the Reliability and Maintenance programs, initially focused at our site.

DUTIES:

  • Maintain and enhance the performance of our physical assets and track maintenance labor and material costs to meet plant performance targets.
  • Improve maintenance and reliability performance by using Key Performance Indicators.
  • Accountable for all site maintenance (routine and turnarounds) and reliability projects.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership teams, engineering, corporate functional leadership, external support, and contractors.
  • Conduct monthly analysis of equipment failures causing plant downtime to create maintenance strategy and propose improvements to eliminate the assets with the highest failure rate. Organize and facilitate site workshops within the maintenance team.
  • Develop and execute the annual strategic objectives and budget for the maintenance organization to support plant directives. Monitor performance and cost effectiveness to achieve goals.
  • Monitor maintenance and reliability expenses across the region, including labor, parts, and equipment. Identify trends and lead efforts to address gaps.
  • Ensure the integrity and maintenance of all plant assets, including production equipment, facilities, utility equipment, and grounds.
  • Collect and analyze maintenance data and equipment work histories to support the site Maintenance Reliability engineers.
  • Select, manage, and collaborate with engineering or construction personnel for building structural, plant process, or other construction projects. Ensure compliance with specifications, code requirements, and necessary permits. Ensure proper materials are available and projects are on schedule. Coordinate work activities of approved contractors performing capital projects for the company. Evaluate contractor work, set safety performance expectations, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Lead implementation of best practices for spare parts inventory program. Maintain stock management discipline.
  • Prepare activity reports, project proposals, and cost analysis of machinery, structure, or equipment replacements or repairs as directed.
  • Review and optimize asset criticality, equipment maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, and non-interventive), and emergent work protocols.
  • Ensure proactive work strategies (frequency, task lists, and critical parts) align with asset criticality analyses to optimize maintenance processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor and third-party maintenance services as needed.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis for significant or repeat equipment failures, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis as necessary. Implement maintenance strategy improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of CMMS systems, including preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. Ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets and files.
  • Implement and sustain workflow processes, such as work request and work order creation, planning, kitting, scheduling, execution, and work quality/closure.
  • Review and analyze inspection data for equipment reliability issues at the request of site maintenance engineers.
  • Analyze CMMS data to improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and provide performance visibility to site managers.
  • Provide reliability and maintenance input on capital projects, guiding project teams on equipment reliability and maintainability. Provide input on technical and equipment check-out and commissioning of new assets. Update CMMS database with project-related changes in equipment strategies and specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise for Process Safety Management (PSM) and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Provide benchmark and industry data for reliability improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Maintenance, Reliability, or Engineering in a PSM regulated Chemical Plant.
  • Ability to establish strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the operation to enhance collaboration and achieve results.
  • Experience with PSM systems and hazardous processes (OSHA 1910.119), CMMS, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Maintenance Work Process.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS and ERP software.
