As a Controls Engineer, your main responsibility will be developing and engineering customized food production equipment according to customer specifications.

Our client is a rapidly expanding privately held company based in Waukegan, IL. They specialize in designing and manufacturing custom food production equipment and packaging lines, and they are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join their team and take on exciting and complex projects.

Job Overview

  • Develop electrical systems and controls for customized food production equipment and robotic packaging systems
  • Create electrical equipment designs for machine controls using servo motor and PLC platforms
  • Prepare detailed design reviews and documentation for projects
  • Design, develop, and program PLC, HMI, and MMI programs from scratch
  • Lead teams in the debugging and final check out of electrical systems

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering is a must
  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical design engineering within the industrial machinery or automation system manufacturing industries
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs from scratch
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with servo motors
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%-20% of the time

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without any restrictions
