Equipment Repair Specialist

The position of Equipment Repair Specialist in Shelbyville, KY requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various industrial process machinery. The responsibilities of this role encompass all aspects of industrial maintenance, including problem-solving, logical thinking, safety practices, and effective communication. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude and self-motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair and maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems of building systems and process machinery.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks based on oral communication, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance trouble calls and address issues in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment and machinery to optimize performance.
  • Operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and welders to fabricate and repair parts.
  • Diagnose malfunctions by observing and testing the operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently.
  • Consult reference material to troubleshoot and repair equipment and tooling.
  • Fit and assemble parts to repair equipment, dies, and jigs using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Respond swiftly and skillfully to emergency breakdowns, prioritizing safety and craftsmanship.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on tooling, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts used and order new parts as necessary in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Document repairs and maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Operate aerial lifts and forklifts safely and efficiently.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor and/or Manager with other assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Support new project launches and engineering changes as directed by Maintenance Leadership.
  • Ensure the safety of all associates during emergencies and inclement weather events.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
