Powdered Materials R&D Engineer

Our client, a global manufacturing company with sales exceeding $900MM, specializes in producing carbon and graphite products. They are currently seeking a skilled R&D MATERIALS ENGINEER in the Nashville, TN area. This role will involve developing new products, improving existing products, and enhancing manufacturing processes.   • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens. Due to their work with the U.S. Defense Department, the company must abide by ITAR regulations.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering is required. While a Master’s degree is strongly preferred, it is not mandatory.
  • Applicants should have 2 to 4 years of experience working with graphite materials, including knowledge of production methods such as pressing, extrusion, and/or isostatic techniques.
  • Prior experience in materials engineering with ceramics, carbon, graphite, and/or powdered metals is essential.
  • Experience in high temperature materials processing is vital.
  • The ability to manage projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, statistics, and data analysis (DOE, ANOVA) is a necessity.
  • The candidate must be capable of working in a team-oriented and self-motivated manner.
  • Any familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Methods / Operational Excellence would be advantageous, but it is not mandatory.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $90K to $100K base salary plus a 5% bonus.
