Compounding Supervisor


Responsible for the effective, precise and consistent processing of all ingredients required for producing high-quality personal care products according to customer specifications.


– Supervise, organize, and coordinate the activities of the Compounding department involved in processing, weighing, testing, adjusting, and modifying ingredients to complete the manufacturing process of various personal care products.

– Communicate regularly with compounding department supervisors, staff, and relevant personnel to ensure the production of high-quality finished goods.

– Review daily production totals, compile reports for managers and supervisors.

– Supervise inspections made by staff on all compounding equipment.

– Ensure adherence to GMP, SOP, and Safety Procedures.

– Comply with OSHA, Safety Regulations, Labor Laws, and other governmental statutes.

– Conduct regular employee training on GMP, SOP, SAFETY, and cross-training to enhance employee skills.

– Establish clear expectations for the team and hold them accountable to those expectations.

– Perform other assigned tasks.

– Thorough understanding of manufacturing and chemistry.

– Familiarity with chemical batch making processes and techniques.

– Excellent leadership skills required.

– Ability to address team deficiencies promptly.

– Strong emphasis on safety regarding job performance.

– Successful completion of background check and drug screen.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.

– Knowledge and implementation of programs for handling hazardous chemicals.

– Ability to manage materials and personnel to meet daily production goals.

– Capability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, government regulations, and hazardous chemical handling practices.


Directly supervise: Supervisors and team leads in the Compounding Department. Fulfill supervisory duties following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities comprise interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
