Laundry Plant Manager

Our client in Cape Coral, FL is in need of an experienced Laundry Plant Manager for their commercial laundry/linen/uniform service operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the internal operations, production, engineering/maintenance, safety, inventory, and financial performance.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Laundry Plant Manager will make decisions and provide direction to ensure the efficient processing of all linen products, including safety, production planning and control, plant schedules, inventory control, recruiting and retention, team management and development, tracking, and reporting.
This is a fast-paced plant that operates 7 days a week with 2 shifts. The Laundry Plant Manager will be required to work various shifts, including early, mid, and evening, as well as rotating weekends.


  • Manage plant safety, operation, costs, and budgeting.
  • Spent time on the production floor, observing plant operations and developing department supervisors.
  • Oversee daily production operations, drive productivity, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and suggest process changes to improve profitability.
  • Supervise department managers (production supervisors), including hiring, training, and providing guidance and coaching.
  • Ensure high performance in all plant departments in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Implement standard operating procedures and ensure consistency and standardization across the division.
  • Analyze and recommend plans for improvement, including equipment, methods, and process improvements.
  • Achieve budget goals and drive continuous improvement in all plant service centers.
  • Interview, select, hire, develop, train, and counsel direct reports in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety protocols and OSHA regulations, and implement safety awareness programs.
  • Be available after normal business hours when on call.

Measurement of Success:

Productivity measurements, PPOH, labor percentage, utility utilization/costs, order fill rates, safety performance


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing high volume commercial laundry plants
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of plant operation methods, equipment, techniques, engineering, and maintenance
  • Ability to manage, support, and motivate a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
