DeltaV Controls Engineer

Control Systems Engineer – DeltaV


We are seeking a control systems engineer in Alpharetta, GA, who specializes in DeltaV systems. This role will involve programming, system configuration, system documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities focused on DeltaV systems.



*Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent

*Proficiency in programming DeltaV Distributed Control Systems

*Strong knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols

*Good understanding of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams

*Familiarity with P&IDs, including supporting their development, reviewing existing ones, and developing Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs

*Knowledge of ISA tagging conventions


*Experience programming PLCs (preferably Allen-Bradley)




*Experience developing operational and technical manuals, including training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures

*Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays

*Knowledgeable of Historian systems

*Knowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)

*Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols


*Support the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives

*Contribute to the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables

*Participate in field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns

*Develop DCS/PLC/HMI programming solutions

*Execute factory acceptance testing

*Perform field start-up and commissioning, including troubleshooting support

*Contribute to and participate in client training sessions

*Provide after-hours support for internal/external clients as required

*Travel up to 25% of the time
